Tessa Getchis
Extension Program Leader
Team Aquaculture & Fisheries
Tessa L. Getchis is the Extension Program leader for the Connecticut Sea Grant program and has a joint faculty appointment with UConn Extension. She has been with the program since 2000. Her focus areas include aquaculture, shellfisheries management and habitat restoration. She offers industry consultations and trainings, helping businesses navigate the regulatory process, conducting collaborative research projects, and engaging in public outreach. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology from Roger Williams University, and a master’s degree in Fisheries, Animal and Veterinary Sciences from the University of Rhode Island.
