In 2022, the Long Island Sound Mentor Teacher Program offered sessions at Sheffield Island in Norwalk and Fort Trumbull State Park in New London. The teachers engaged in classroom and hands-on lessons as well as outdoor experiences they lead with their students to teach them about the estuary.
