CTSG Research Coordinator, Dr. Syma Ebbin, administers CTSG’s research funding efforts, including the CTSG omnibus and LISS extramural research competitions. She is a Professor in Residence in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, teaching courses in environmental and marine science and policy and engages in applied social science research in fisheries and environmental management and policy, with specific focus on the institutional and human dimensions of resource management and policy, particularly within marine and coastal systems. Her research has focused on developing better understandings of subsistence harvesting of coastal resources, marine spatial planning efforts in Long Island Sound, participatory management approaches including the Native American co-management of Pacific salmon in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest and soft shell clam co-management in the Georges River region of Maine.
