Team Resilience
Deb Visco Abibou is an assistant extension educator-sustainable & resilient communities with Connecticut Sea Grant and UConn Extension programs. Through her work carrying out the Sustainable & Resilient Communities goals of the Long Island Sound Study, she focuses on ensuring that coastal and watershed communities become more resilient to environmental changes and better prepared for hazards. Deb is experienced in coastal restoration and resiliency from her previous work implementing projects across Louisiana’s coast. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental & Forest Biology from SUNY ESF and a doctorate in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from Tulane University. She is based at the New Haven County Extension Center in North Haven.
