Long Island Sound Outreach Support Coordinator

Erica Casper is the Long Island Sound outreach support coordinator for Connecticut Sea Grant and the Long Island Sound Study. She supports communication and outreach efforts to promote healthy coastal and marine ecosystems through research, education, and stakeholder engagement. With over a decade of experience in writing, content development and outreach, she has worked in both scientific and public engagement spaces, translating complex topics into accessible materials. Erica holds a master’s degree in marine science from Boston University and has led outreach initiatives at institutions including Mystic Aquarium, the University of Maryland Center for Health Equity and the Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory.
