Sarah Bodenstein

Assistant Extension Educator / Regional Aquaculture

Sarah Bodenstein serves as the regional aquaculture liaison for CT Sea Grant. Her goal in the role is to help translate research from CT Sea Grant and NOAA’s Milford Lab to the Northeast aquaculture industry. She focuses on accelerating technology transfer, fostering academic–industry collaboration, and ensuring that research addresses emerging needs. Previously, Bodenstein studied aquaculture along the Gulf coast, where she earned her master’s degree from Auburn University and her doctorate from Louisiana State University. There she used traditional aquaculture science, industrial engineering, and cryopreservation to support the Gulf’s oyster sector. Her long-term career goal is to apply production-management tools to improve aquaculture sustainability in the Northeast and beyond.
