The Long Island Sound Partnership, along with partner organizations Connecticut Sea Grant, Project Oceanology, the Connecticut National Estuarine Research Reserve (CT NERR) and others, invite the public to a family-friendly free event on Aug. 16 to celebrate 40 years of LIS conservation.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the UConn Avery Point campus, 1080 Shennecossett Road, Groton.
Activities will include boat trips with Project O, scavenger hunts, touch tanks, art workshops, prize raffles and more. Lunch, cupcakes and other refreshments will be provided.
