Arts Support Award recipients to perform 3 concerts in March

Flyer for Harmony of Nature concertsMusical compositions created by the collaboration of an oceanographer, pianist and composer and funded by the CT Sea Grant Arts Support Award will be performed in March.

Molly James, a UConn Marine Sciences doctoral candidate, created the compositions with South Korean pianist Hea Youn Chung and Max Lu, who is studying music composition at The Julliard School and computer science at Columbia University. The works written by Lu to be performed by Chung were inspired by climate-related data analyzed by James.

The concert will feature “innovative classical piano works created from oceanographic date off the coasts of New York, Connecticut and Japan,” according to the collaborators.
