Congratulations are in order for Robert Pomeroy, CT Sea Grant extension specialist in aquaculture and fisheries, after the announcement that a journal article he co-authored has been chosen for an award by the Editorial Board of the Journal of the World Aquaculture Society.
The paper, “Linkages and Trust in the Value Chain for Small-scale Aquaculture in Asia,” was published in the August 2017 issue of the journal. It was chosen as the 2017 Best Paper in the “Review Papers” category and an announcement made on March 27.
According to the abstract, the article “examines the linkages and trust between small scale aquaculture producers and traders in Asia in order to better understand the constraints and opportunities faced by small-scale producers.”
Pomeroy, also a UConn professor of agricultural and resource economics, co-wrote the paper with: Hap Navy of the Inland Fisheries and Research Development Institute in Cambodia; Alice Joan Ferrer of the Department of Economics at the University of the Philippines Visayas; and Agus H. Purnomo of the Research Center for Marine and Fisheries Socio-economics, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries in Indonesia. Read the article here.
