The UConn Avery Point EcoHusky Club will host an Earth Day celebration from noon to 2 p.m. on April 19 on the campus green.
The event will offer environmentally themed crafts and fun activities including a visit from a pair of oxen, a marine animal touch tank, beekeeper, information about composting, materials for making seed bombs and more. The public is welcome to join this free event.
Members of the League of Women Voters will be on hand to help students register to vote. Participants are asked to please bring food donations for the campus Husky Harvest food pantry. Donors will receive thank-you gifts from the EcoHusky Club.
Connecticut Sea Grant will offer free publications and display single-use plastic alternatives and information about shell recycling.
In case of rain, the event will be moved to the student center.
