Exhibit offers fresh look at coastal environment, maritime heritage
“Crosscurrents,” an exhibit of the works of more than a dozen artists supported by CT Sea Grant, opened Jan. 24 at the Alexey Von Schlippe Gallery, located in The Branford House at the UConn Avery Point campus.
New exhibit celebrates decade of CTSG-supported art
Connecticut Sea Grant is proud to present “Crosscurrents,” an exhibition of works created through CTSG’s Arts Support Awards Program over the last 10 years. Ground-breaking, multimedia works by 13 artists whose creations have enhanced awareness of Connecticut’s coastal environment and maritime heritage will be on display .
Habitat walk, paint-out bring artists to Avery Point
Nine members of the Connecticut Plein Air Painters Society visited UConn Avery Point on Sept. 9 at the invitation of Connecticut Sea Grant. The event is part of Sea Grant’s efforts to reach out to new groups during its 30th anniversary year celebration.
Whale, object sculptures to be created by Sea Grant artist awardees
Two sculptural installations, one of illuminated right whales and another of found objects enhanced with printed photographic images, will be created by two artists selected to receive funding support under the 2018 Connecticut Sea Grant Arts Support Awards Program.
‘Unfiltered’ exhibit now at Avery Point showcases images of water
Selected paintings, photographs and other works from “Unfiltered: An Exhibition about Water,” are on display through early May at the Branford House at UConn Avery Point. The exhibit is a collaboration of several UConn departments and programs, including Connecticut Sea Grant.
