Norwalk harbor is setting for final on-the-water workshop

Connecticut Sea Grant hosted the final in a series of four on-the-water workshops celebrating its 30th anniversary on July 26 on Norwalk Harbor. Seven speakers and 24 passengers toured the busy harbor aboard Spirit of the Sound, the Maritime Aquarium of Norwalk’s hybrid electric vessel.

New exhibit celebrates decade of CTSG-supported art

Connecticut Sea Grant is proud to present “Crosscurrents,” an exhibition of works created through CTSG’s Arts Support Awards Program over the last 10 years. Ground-breaking, multimedia works by 13 artists whose creations have enhanced awareness of Connecticut’s coastal environment and maritime heritage will be on display .

Sailing ship becomes classroom for Sea Grant experts, researchers

Leaders of partner organizations, town officials and individual stakeholders joined Connecticut Sea Grant on Oct. 5 for an on-the-water workshop aboard the Onrust, a replica of the vessel Dutch explorer Adraien Block sailed into Long Island Sound and the Connecticut River in the early 1600s.

Sea Grant-supported science is showcased in daylong forum

The keynote speaker at CTSG’s 30th Anniversary Research Forum used an anecdote about a Norwalk bridge project to show how the work of scientists provides the foundation environmental advocates need to persuade lawmakers to take actions that benefit Long Island Sound and its watershed.
