The new Foundations of Shellfish Farming training course is for new and prospective farmers and those who simply seek to learn more about aquaculture practices and techniques. Classes will be on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. from Jan. 24 to April 11 at UConn Avery Point.
Sea Grant-National Marine Fisheries Service fellows sought
The 2023 Sea Grant Graduate Fellowship in Population and Ecosystem Dynamics and Marine Resource Economics is open for submissions until Jan. 25. The fellowships are available to PhD students in programs in population or ecosystem dynamics, resource or environmental economics or related field.

NOAA is seeking applicants for the 2023 Coastal Management Fellowship Program. This program provides on-the-job education and training opportunities in coastal resource management and policy for postgraduate students and project assistance to state coastal zone management agencies.

Winds of change: CT sees signs of offshore turbine development
Today, just seven turbines harness the power of North Atlantic winds along the East Coast. Over the next several years, thousands of even larger electricity-producing machines are expected to rise from the sea floor from Maine to Florida.
